They realize that the job is more than a search for asbestos and mercury when they encounter the building's frightening past. Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2020.
It seems the writer/director only cared about character development for the Hazmat characters.
Shot twelve years after the first film, this time a crew of workers are tasked with identifying toxic materials in an ancient asylum.
However, into the third act, events take a brutal turn as the film's World War II mythology comes to the forefront. It has tinges of Silent Hill and My Bloody Valentine. Written by Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2018. Gave it two stars only because I was able to get through it.
Das Setting "Altes Sanatorium" hätte so viel hergegeben. Nothing was explained at all, just hints placed here and there that didn't come together at the end. I'm still not sure if this was a ghost movie, demon movie or slasher movie. This could have been a great movie if the production and directing crew had taken advantage of #1 and #2 above and just scared us with even a typical slasher plot, but they blew it by not really creating any semblance of a logical story. One breaks his leg and it's getting dark soon, so they spend the night in a big, abandoned hotel, closed 30 years ago.
When a truck crashes inside a tunnel, people on their way home for Christmas are brutally trapped in a deadly fire. But their routine assignment takes a dark turn when they encounter the building's terrifying past. Point for dramatic acting: the hazmat crew were great. The Hazmat cast were great -- skilled Actors and very believable in their roles. Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2018. This movie is good, but could have been great. They know that you know what’s happening, and they attempt to play on that.
The elderly janitor is still living there to ensure that no one access the dangerous building. Original is Norwegian so it is subtitled. Guide=some violence, gore(not too bad if your squeamish), and brief nudity. (SPOILERS) First, the logic behind a hazmat team sweeping a massive building in 3 days is ludicrous.
They wake up deep in the woods with no one around but the sound of a hunting horn. In other words, familiarity with “Villmark” earns you an Easter egg or two, but “Villmark Asylum” functions fine as a standalone story.
Just with weird Karl, the movie had some great bones to build on and well, instead the audience had to try to unpack all the basic horror tropes that led to a nonsensical ending.
I'm not saying the Hazmat characters were perfect. Complete, utter lack of context or reasoning on why anything is happening (spoiler: the hazmat crew become separated and killed off). You must be a registered user to use the IMDb rating plugin.

Water is gushing from the old pipes, and brings the work to a halt.
Started out well but honestly I'm not sure what the heck happened. I hope someone that can tell a story keeps the location (a huge creepy abandoned asylum in a remote forest surrounded by mountains) in mind because it steals the show. Were the nurse, monster in a suit and little blind girl real or what? Was this review helpful to you? I gave this an extra 1/2 star to round up to three based on production value, the set (love abandoned hospitals), some wonderful acting and lovely score.
This was due to terrible writing and direction.

Were the nurse, monster in a suit and little blind girl real or what? WTF? They realize that the job is more than a search for asbestos and mercury. The filmmakers take you to a location that could make anyone nervous, introduce the viewer to the cast... and as the water begins to flow (literally, the place is filling with water), the plot drowns.

It's basically a Norwegian take on that movie. The plot was decent and a nice little twist. Personally, they don't bother me, and I feel like a lot of people miss out on good entertaining movies because they are so dead set against subtitles. Subtitles were difficult to figure out.
Horror movies lately have been severely lacking in the suspense department. Five contract workers have taken on the task of tracking the huge building for hazardous waste before it's demolished. An attempt to close the water intake leads them to the dark cellar, where they discover the horrible secrets from the sanatoriums past. I feel ripped off that I invested any time in the film past the crew introduction to be honest. Very reminiscent of Session 9 (2001) and definitely an homage, Villmark 2 is very slow in its build up of tension.
While not the best movie, this is very good, and a great pick for Prime. Sadly there are too many unconnected plot points. But strange things start happening - especially down by the water where they find an abandoned tent. Its a good professional production.

They made stupid cliche choice after stupid cliche choice.

This one filled that void. I still recommend it, but those who obsessive about such failings such pass.
Its a good professional production.
The plot was decent and a nice little twist. I get the sense that for the "villians" the director just said "oh yeah, you, just uhhhh go that way or something."

Subtitles were difficult to figure out. Those actors should have been given more to work with, rather than being treated like props.
What makes this work for me is the sound design.
Had to turn on English CC which needs to be turned back off before watching another movie. This was a nice, good, creepy film. I WATCHED THE CLIP OF THIS FILM ON YOUTUBE.

The acting is solid and the scenery is fantastic. How I wish Amazon would clearly identify the language in the video and those with English subtitles. The latest is titled Villmark 2. There's a problem loading this menu right now.
We know next to nothing about them and they don't really stand out, so while we can replace ourselves with them in these scary situations, you could also replace them with any other character and it wouldn't make a difference.
